What does TAFE Tasmania offer in the OH&S area?
TAFE Tasmania has a statewide team of highly qualified OH&S trainers and consultants.
We provide nationally accredited courses in the OH&S area up to Advanced Diploma level. We also offer a range of nationally accredited short courses which are often designed to meet legislative requirements of participants and we offer a range of short courses that deal with important specific topics in OH&S.
Additionally we offer consultancy services to business in the areas of OH&S systems and risk management.
Why do I need to understand OHS?
As an individual you may aspire to be an OH&S officer, co-ordinator or manager in an organisation. Alternatively, you may need an accredited short course to satisfy yourself that you are up-to-date with OH&S matters in your workplace or to satisfy yourself that your organisation is meeting legislative requirements. Or you might need a short course to acquire specific up-to-date knowledge in a specific OH&S area.
As an employer or representative of an employing organisation, you may need your employee safety representatives, managers, supervisors, accountable persons or your OH&S committee members to be trained in order to meet legislative and other requirements.
If you are a small organisation, you may need assistance in establishing an OH&S system.
Consultancy services
We have skilled and highly qualified staff who have the practical working knowledge to assist organisations with OH&S systems, hazard identification and risk management.
