The automotive industry employs more than 300,000 people across Australia, through more than 60,000 enterprises, in three major areas - vehilce manufacturers, component manufacturers and the retail, service and repair industry. The automotive industry is not just limited to motor mechanics, auto electricians, spray painters or body repairers. The industry also includes the manufacture, sale, service and repair of buses, trucks and trailersm, heavy machinery, marine products, outdoor power equipment, motorcycles and bicycles.
