Nearly everything in our lives
goes through some form of testing
by scientists and their staff in laboratories across the nation.
Laboratory officers perform
sampling and testing following
set procedures and apply well-developed technical skills and basic
scientific knowledge. They generally
form part of a team inside a
laboratory but may also perform technical tasks in the field,
or within the production plants, or even in
the office. With these qualifications,
you could work in:
 Manufacturing industries such as food, mineral and paper production
Service industries such as medical, government, research and
school laboratories
Environmental monitoring
