The training offered in this industry area covers metal fabrication and welding, fitting and machining. People in this industry make, assemble and repair anything that has steel in it – including bridges, beams, filing cabinets, farm and road making machinery, tools, boats, silos – the list goes on. This industry also makes the equipment that is used to make everything else – such as clothes, food and cars. The areas you could work in include: machine workshops, fabrication shops (build new equipment) and welding workshops.
