The forest and forest products industry covers all the activities associated with the production of timber, from growing and management of plantation and native forest resources through harvesting, sawmilling and processing to the manufacture, merchandising and retailing of finished products. Forestry is a major industry in Tasmania with plenty of career opportunities developing in the downstream processing sector.
