R410A High Pressure Refrigerants
This one-day course is designed for qualified tradesmen or those who have already successfully completed the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Maintenance course.
Successful participants of this course will be able to apply for a Restricted License to install Split System Air Conditioners (Re: Federal Act - Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Act).
R410 has a standing and operation pressures of 60% higher that R22. If not installed or serviced correctly everyone is at risk. The one-day course covers:
Safe Handling of R410A
Safety Issues and Servicing
Refrigeration Fundamentals
Piping Requirements

Restricted Split System Air Conditioning Installation
The scope of work covered by a Certificate II in Air Conditioning Split Systems allows successful participants to handle ODS/SGG refrigerants for the installation and decommissioning of single head split system of less than 18kw (cooling capacity).
This course provides a Certificate II in Air Conditioning Split Systems outcome for participants working within the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry. After successful completion of all units of competence participants will be eligible to undertake the assessment for ODS/SGG (Ozone Depleting Substances/Synthetic Greenhouse Gas) license. This course also covers the knowledge and skills required to handle R410a Refrigerants.

Electro-Fusion Welding (Polyethylene Pipe)
This one (1) day program has been designed for operators of Electro-fusion welding equipment and satisfies the need for accredited training for those working in the Plumbing and Gas Fitting Industry.
After successful completion of the theoretical and practical components, students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment covering the competency "Electro-fusion Weld Polyethylene Pipelines".

Commission and Maintain Backflow Prevention
The course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills which enable them to identify the need for, select, install, test and maintain backflow prevention devices.
This is a nationally recognised licensing level unit for the plumbing industry.
Outcome: Statement of Attainment.
Pre-Requisites: Applicants must be either apprenticed or registered water plumbers, sanitary plumbers or mechanical services plumbers.

Thermostatic Mixing Valves
This 4 day program is designed to give licensed plumbers the knowledge and skills to safely install, maintain and test Thermostatic Mixing Valves under the 2005 legislation.

Natural Gas Up-Skill Training
This 3 day program will enable successful participants who are existing registered LPG Gas Fitters to apply to Workplace Standards for the issue of a Type A Gas License
Topics covered include:
Characteristics of Natural Gas
Revision of the AG 601 Gas Code
Safe Pressure Testing Procedures
Safe Appliance Commissioning Procedure
Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a Statement of Attainment.

Certificate IV Gas Fitting (Type B Appliances)
* Full License or Restricted License
This program is offered at the Claremont Link Centre or On-Site.
The overall aim of this course is to produce graduates with the skills, knowledge and aptitudes, which will enable them to perform the duties of a gas service person competent to install, commission and service Industrial Type ‘B” Gas Appliances. Basic gas principals are included in this ten day course.
The demand for highly skilled service operatives reflects the dramatic impact of technological advancement in this area of gas fitting, including specifications, automatic and computer driven control systems and unique appliance designs.
Outcome: On satisfactory completion of the units the learner will have displayed competencies in the nationally agreed training specification-5582.
Pre-Requisites: Applicants must be from a trade/professional area and have completed the Basic Gas Skills
